Questions
Why is MP3 export not free?
Encoding MP3 in the browser is real work that took time to build and maintain, and ChunkAudio has no ads for Pro users. The one-time price funds both. Splitting itself stays free without limits. Splitting an MP3 file stays free and keeps MP3, because the parts are copied frame by frame without re-encoding. Pro is for making MP3 from WAV, M4A, FLAC or OGG sources, and from cuts and pause removal.
What does "pause removal for long recordings" mean?
The silence remover finds every pause in a recording, shows how much time it saves and plays a preview, free for any file. Downloading the shortened file is free for recordings up to 10 minutes and a Pro feature beyond that, which is where meetings, lectures and podcasts live.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay once and the key keeps working. There is nothing to cancel.
Do I need an account?
No. Your licence key is a signed code that ChunkAudio verifies itself and remembers in your browser. Clear your browser data and you simply paste the key again.
Does Pro upload my audio?
No. MP3 encoding runs inside your browser in a background thread. The only network request Pro ever makes is the licence check, which contains your key and nothing about your files.
Refunds and invoices?
Stripe is the merchant of record: you get a proper invoice with VAT, and a refund within 14 days if Pro does not work for you. Your card statement and receipt show the payment as handled by Stripe (Link). Write to the contact form and it is sorted.
How many devices?
As many as you use yourself. Paste the same key on each one. Please do not share it publicly; shared keys get disabled.
Lost your key?
Send your Stripe receipt (or the e-mail address you paid with) to the contact form. The same key is re-issued from the payment record.
