- Same format out as in. MP3, M4A, AAC and OGG (Opus, Vorbis) parts are exact copies of the original, tags kept; FLAC parts are re-encoded bit-exact. Free downloads are WAV.
- MP3 export for every part from any source, at 192 or 320 kbps, a fraction of the WAV size.

Which plan is for me?
One recording to split this week: the 7-day pass. Splitting most weeks, for a podcast, a course or client work: the yearly plan. Never wanting to think about it again: the lifetime licence, which costs less than a year until 31 October. An office where several people split audio: the team plan.
Is it a subscription?
No, none of them. The pass, the yearly plan, the team plan and the lifetime licence are each one payment. The yearly and team plans run for 365 days from the purchase and stop by themselves; two weeks before the end the app reminds you, and renewing is simply buying the plan again. Nothing to cancel, ever.
Why does the lifetime price change?
€24 was the launch price. Since then Pro has grown: the original format out for MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC and OGG, several files in one go, presets, chapter files, pause removal as a copy, and a decoder for Apple Lossless. From 1 November the lifetime licence costs €49. Until 31 October it stays at €24, and every licence bought by then keeps working as it is, for good.
I have a pass. Can I move to a plan?
Yes, whenever you like: buy the yearly plan or the lifetime licence and paste the new key. The pass ends by itself; nothing has to be cancelled.
What does the team plan cover?
Five people and the devices they use themselves, with one key for all of them. The licence check counts devices and countries so that a key passed around the internet can be spotted; a team of five on their laptops and phones stays well inside. For more seats, write to the contact form.
Why is MP3 export not free?
Encoding MP3 in the browser is real work that took time to build and maintain, and ChunkAudio has no ads for Pro users. The price funds both. Splitting itself stays free without limits, with WAV as the free output for every source. Pro gives the parts back in the format they came in: MP3, M4A and AAC copied frame by frame or sample by sample with the original tags, FLAC re-encoded bit-exact, and MP3 from any source when you want it smaller.
What does "pause removal for long recordings" mean?
The silence remover finds every pause in a recording, shows how much time it saves and plays a preview, free for any file. Downloading the shortened file is free for recordings up to 10 minutes and a Pro feature beyond that, which is where meetings, lectures and podcasts live.
Do I need an account?
No. Your licence key is a signed code that ChunkAudio verifies itself and remembers in your browser. Clear your browser data and you simply paste the key again. The yearly and team plans need no account either.
Does Pro upload my audio?
No. MP3 encoding runs inside your browser in a background thread. The only network request Pro ever makes is the licence check, which contains your key and nothing about your files.
Refunds and invoices?
Stripe is the merchant of record: you get a proper invoice with VAT, and a refund within 14 days if Pro does not work for you. Your card statement and receipt show the payment as handled by Stripe (Link). Write to the contact form and it is sorted.
How many devices?
As many as you use yourself. Paste the same key on each one. Please do not share it publicly; shared keys get disabled.
Lost your key?
Send your Stripe receipt (or the e-mail address you paid with) to the contact form. The same key is re-issued from the payment record.
